Lego minifigures collection

Here are our Sports Lego series minifigures.

The daredevil figure, remiscent of Evel Knievel, is great. After years of searching, we finally got the Luchador, a superb minifigure with a colorful mask, championship belt and cape.

And here's a look at an upcoming Lego Batman set... finally the Flash will be available as a minifigure! Hopefully that means other Justice League heroes will soon be out too.

Lego minifigures collection

Here's our alien and space Lego series minifigures.

We actually own those of this classic looking alien on the far right. The heavily armoured alien soldier is one of our favourite.

Minifigure heads are cylindrical, and attach to a long, narrow cylinder molded onto the top of the torso, which allows the head to rotate. This feature also allows items to be attached to the figures over the torso, such as air tanks, capes or breastplates. The heads have a stud on top which is the same size as studs on standard Lego bricks which could allow one to be placed on it. Head accessories vary widely, and include hair, helmets and hats. The legs rotate independently to 90 degrees forward, and nearly 45 degrees backward.

Minifigures also connect to standard Lego bricks in both a sitting or standing position. The hands of a minifigure resemble the letter C, which allows them to hold many Lego accessories. There are hundreds of different accessories, including swords, axes, wands, cups, guns, and lightsabers. Additionally, the tops of the hands are approximately the same size as the studs on standard Lego bricks, which allows Lego pieces to be placed on top of them. These variations allow minifigures to be customized, keeping with the modular design of Lego elements.

Lego minifigures collection

We love Lego!

As cool as the Lego bricks are, the minifigures are probably the coolest thing about Lego. They were first produced in 1978, and have become hugely successful, with over 4 billion produced.

A few years ago, Lego decided to release minifigures in sealed and unidentified polybag. This led to a new craze... the Lego minifigures series. In the coming days we will post our collection of Lego minifigures raging from series 1 to 10. We will try our best to have them by genre, if possible.

Here's our collection of Lego clowns and mimes! These are some of the coolest minifigures ever! We recently found the clown on the far right, which I believe was part of the very first series!!!!

And here's an first look at the upcoming series 11, which looks to be the coolest yet!

Playskool Star Wars + Spider-Man and Friends

One of the very first action figures series Isaac got into was the Playskool Star Wars + Spider-Man and Friends. Those rather big and bulky figures are perfect for preschool kids. Its a great way for them to have fun and learn about the characters.

Now once in awhile, Isaac still plays with them... like he did last week.

Plants vs. Zombies!

And last but not least is the Disco Zombie with the Wall-nut. So far this is my favourite figure. He looks exactly like in the video game, there's even goldfish in his heels.

Fight!

Plants vs. Zombies!

The second one we got was Ducky Zombie with the Peashooter. This is another very cool looking figure. Peashooter is sadly not that great.

Plants vs. Zombies!

Yeah! We got the new Plants vs. Zombies figures!

These 3" tall figures from Jazwares are awesome! Here's the first one... Conehead Zombie with the Sunflower. The zombie is slightly articulate. He does look exactly like in the video game. Lots of details.

Batman Arkham City

We finally got the ultra cool Azrael action figure from the Batman Arkham City series. We love this series but we didn't get any in sometime now.

Not sure if this is the first Azrael, Jean-Paul Valley, or the second one. Still love the details on this one.  Superb sculpt. He looks great. The sword is also very nice.

The Walking Dead

While on vacation, Isaac and I went downtown shopping. We love zombies... so it was just as matter of time until we got a Walking Dead action figure. And we did... our very first Walking Dead action figure chosen by Isaac, the Zombie Lurker.

Pull its torso up and it splits apart at the waist, exposing its intestines and internal organs and transforming it into a legless crawler! Amazing!

Nerf Lazer Tag & Comic Con Movie News

While browsing the Nerf web site, Isaac and I found out that they had released Lazer Tag guns!

These blasters work an an iPhone or iPod Touch. You get access to multiple virtual weapons and special attacks through your blaster. Then you’ll be ready to battle against an alien invasion or duke it out in games of up to 24 buddies!

The app is free but features in-app purchase of better and bigger weapon. Lucky for us, they were on special over at Toys R Us so we grabbed one. It works surprisingly well and it a lot of fun!

Joss Whedon's follow-up will be THE AVENGERS AGE OF ULTRON and Whedon confirms that the robot Ultron will be the film's primary villain.

WOW! Amazing news! Ultron is one of the coolest and baddest bad guy in the Marvel Universe. Also to NOT HAVE an alien invasion AGAIN will be cool. Yet Ultron is against all human life form. The event of this one will probably break the Avengers apart... leading them to rebuild for the third film which is rumoured to be AVENGERS INFINITY GAUNTLET.

Bravo Marvel!!!!

Ultron's first appearance in a Marvel comic was actually in AVENGERS!

MAJOR SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dont read....

Still here?!

Ok...

In the Age of Ultron comic series, it is Iron Man who kills Ultron. Pym's creation is on a mission to bring the apocalypse to mankind. Ultron is actually in the future, using Vision in present time to do his evil deeds.

And Ultron created Vision in the comics!!!! Vin Diesel is rumoured to play Vision.

Let not forget that the film just before AVENGERS AGE OF ULTRON is actually GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY, which happens in the future!

SUPERMAN and BATMAN

Just announced at the Comic Con. Filmmaker Zack Snyder and veteran actor Harry Lennox took to the stage at Warners' Saturday Comic Con presentation to confirm the news from a few hours ago that the "Man of Steel" sequel will feature Batman.

As cool as it sounds, I'm afraid that Warner and DC will mess it up badly. First of all, this shouldn't be called MAN OF STEEL 2. It would be insulting to downgrading for Batman. If they are both in this film then why not call it DC Universe's World's Finest… just like when they teamed up in the comics.

Also they have to tie in the MAN OF STEEL film with the Christopher Nolan Batman movies. Christian Bale doesn't want to come back? Too bad for this arrogant prick. Then have Joseph Gordon-Levitt as the new Batman, just as to where we are lead to at the end of THE DARK KNIGHT RISES. This would only benefit Warners, DC and the audience. We would have a universe that has been building itself for something. Nolan's films are still very fresh in the people's mind. Having someone else as Batman would be like casting Val Kilmer or George Clooney again. Please… get Joseph Gordon-Levitt!

Boys having fun...

We went to see Monsters University at the cinema and later at the drive-in. A good prequel to the first film. We also saw Man of Steel, which we both liked apart from a few little things. Lone Ranger was another film we saw and two day ago we watched Pacific Rim, which is one of our favourite so far this year!

And as always we took some photos around.

Plants vs. Zombies + the end of Hasbro's Marvel Universe and Legends

The other Funko figure we got from their Plants vs. Zombies line was the Sunflower.

Now we are missing the regular Zombie, Disco Zombie and the Peashooter. They are all about 3.75" tall each. Hopefully we will soon own them all.

And one sad new announced at the San Diego Comic Con. Hasbro has announced that the Marvel Universe and Marvel Legends toy lines will end next year. The final wave of Marvel Universe will be Omega Red, Nightcrawler (in Uncanny X-Force costume), Aurora, Northstar, and Black Knight. They will arrive sometime at the end of this year. No word on what happened to the Death Head figure teased last year.

Why was this decision was made? The answer is basically that retailers weren't ordering. Last year, the MU line never sold much due to retailers underordering, hence why only three waves were made this year.

However, Hasbro will continue making 3.75" figures for Marvel but will be rebranding the line. In 2014, they'll be releasing Avengers-themed figures. 2015 will feature only X-Men-themed figures.  After that?  Who knows, Hasbro hasn't announced plans yet.

Terrible news especially since Isaac and I love the Marvel Universe and owns lots of them.

We love Nerf

We finally got a new Nerf gun!

The Nerf N-Strike Elite Rough Cut 2X4 is simply amazing! We wanted one that Isaac could easily handled and use if another alien invasion happens at our place.

This sleek blaster lets you launch 2 Elite Darts at once at targets up to 75 feet away, and the pump-action design lets you pump repeatedly to unleash a steady double stream of darts! Launch up to 8 Elite Darts without reloading!

Nerf foam is made from a solid, spongy cellular material. To produce it, polyester resin reacts with another compound in the presence of CO2 from another reaction. It is this gas that creates open pockets within the polyurethane that, in turn, make the material soft and light.

Toy Story

And here's Buzz Lightyears. He is ultra cool! Buzz actually talks and shoots missiles. He is also one heavy figure.

Toy Story

Toy Story!

Isaac and I are huge fan of the amazing Pixar film series. All three films were amazing. I just remembered that we never shown here our Toy Story toys...

Here's Woody! He is missing his hat but he's still awesome! And yes, he has "Isaac" written under his boot.

Lego Legends of Chima

One video game that Isaac has been anticipating for months now was Lego Legends of Chima. I got it for him the day it came out, of course on the PS Vita.

Its another cool Lego game this time set in the colourful and vivid world of Chima, where animals rules. The game looks gorgeous, nice story with good voice over and some cool quest. Isaac loves it.

My All Time Great Action Figure!

During our last trip at the flea market I found my all time great action figure! This is the exact same action figure that I use to play all the time with as a kid. Introducing the Fisher Price Adventure People Clawtron!

For some reason I used to call him Faucon (Falcon in french). For me he was the coolest and strongest. He "appeared" in most of my stories. Always winning. Now our new Clawtron is about to live some newer exciting adventures!

A few years ago I found on Ebay a sealed one in its original card.

Flea Market Hunting : Fisher Price Adventure People + Lego Minecraft

The Fisher-Price Adventure People were made from around 1975-1985, with more than 30 sets and more than 70 different figures. I used to own lots of them as a kid. They were great!

Lucky us, we managed to find some through the years including some "new" ones during our last trip at the flea market. First is the Male Safari Son. Loved that kid figure back in the days.

More Lego Minecraft!
A couple of weeks ago, we reported that there going to be two expansion Minecraft sets coming out in the near future. Now we know that LEGO 21105 will be The Nether and LEGO 21106 will be The Village.
